2021 FAMILY INITIATIVES

Racial Justice

Continuing the initiative we established in 2020, The Kansha Foundation will renew and refine our efforts to support and enable organizations working to acknowledge, remediate and move forward against the racial inequities entrenched in American institutions.  We are eager to work with organizations that offer solutions through legal action, community organizing, advocacy, education and democratic empowerment as well as those that provide direct relief in our efforts to become an ally to those fighting against or suffering from racial injustice.

Women's Reproductive Rights

From the Center for Reproductive Rights: "In 2021, states across the U.S. passed laws restricting and banning abortion at a rate higher than in any previous year since the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed the constitutional right to abortion in 1973.

Bans on abortion disproportionately impact people who already face discriminatory obstacles when accessing health care—particularly Black, Indigenous, and people of color and those living on low incomes. Yet, state legislatures chose to push restrictive abortion measures that increase barriers to care despite the urgent need to respond to the continuing global coronavirus pandemic and ongoing health disparities experienced by Black communities and other communities of color. "

We have selected the following organizations to receive grants in 2021.
