"Kansha" is an inward awakening of gratitude and an outward expression honoring it. The Kansha Foundation was created by the Zimmerman Family to honor the people, places and experiences that have affected each of us by seeking out and sponsoring efforts to support and preserve them.

In 2008, the board members of the Kansha Foundation explored their diverse areas of interest and how they relate to the mission of the foundation by engaging a large number of grantees with smaller donations in order to begin developing relationships into the future.
